A popular Western Downs horse trainer has been revealed as the victim of an alleged assault that happened in the region last month, with friends and family mourning the death of the “kind-hearted” man.

A Western Downs horse trainer has been remembered as a “kind-hearted” man who was well known amongst the mustering community following his shock death in Chinchilla last month.
The 45-year-old man was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital, however tragically died six days later.
Friends and family of the beloved horse trainer have since taken to social media to share their grief.
“RIP uncle, thanks for everything you did for me from teaching me how to ride horses to taking me mustering or droving for the first time, riding race horses for the first time, it always had something to do with horses may you ride free up there cowboy,” Cameron Creevey posted.
Heidi Butler also shared an emotional tribute: “Shaun Creevey you will be dearly missed buddy! I hope they have rum on ice for you, an unlimited supply.”
Mr Creevey previously lived in Augathella as a trainer, stable hand and horse strapper before moving to the Western Downs 18 months ago, and is an uncle to six nieces and nephews.
A service is being held for the cherished uncle and son this Friday, December 8 at Augathella Cemetery.
