ENTREPRENEURS, innovators and small business owners have the chance to crack the big time thanks to a brand new competition.
Australia Post Regional Pitchfest is aiming to unearth the next big business idea to come out of regional and rural Australia.
Anyone can apply, with selected finalists to be mentored by business professionals before hitting the stage and presenting their idea live to a panel of judges and audience.
The Queensland leg of the competition will be held in Toowoomba on Tuesday June 27 before the national finals are held in Wagga Wagga in August.
Dianna Sommerville founded Regional Pitchfest, and is overwhelmed with how far the event has come.
"Last year I set out Regional Pitchfest in my home town of Wagga Wagga to give them a platform to launch their great and innovative ideas,” Mrs Sommerville said.
"I keep pinching myself everyday that just eight months later, thanks to the incredible support of Australia Post, people from all regional communities across Australia will now get this same amazing opportunity.”
Rebecca Burrows is the General Manager of Small Business at Australia Post and is excited by this new partnership.
"We know there are amazing innovators throughout regional Australia, which is why we are launching the Australia Post Regional Pitchfest,” Mrs Burrows said.
"I can't wait to meet all the entrepreneurs and business owners in regional Australia and work with them to help their small businesses become the business they want to be."
