AGED care providers can now apply for up to $500,000 worth of funding, in an new government grant.
Federal member for Maranoa, David Littleproud said he encouraged providers in the region to apply for the Aged Care Regional, Rural and Remote Infrastructure Grants, in an effort to better assist the elderly community.
"We all know how important aged care services are for our elderly residents and their families," Mr Littleproud said.
"We want to support the elderly members of our community, with peace of mind knowing that relevant care and services are available to them.
"Approved Commonwealth Home Support Program providers such as Meals on Wheels can also get on board. Funding is going towards providers that are in exceptional need."
Mr Littleproud said roughly $40m had been made available through the program.
"I'm glad to see regional, rural and remote areas being prioritised through these grants," Mr Littleproud said.
"This funding will encourage greater investment and more support for the elderly members of our community."
Application will close on Wednesday, October 24, at 2pm.
