A cyclist remains in intensive care after he fell from his bicycle into the path of an oncoming ute while out riding with a group of other cyclists on Brisbane’s southside on Tuesday.

A Queensland Police spokeswoman said preliminary investigations indicate the man, 42, was riding with a group of cyclists along Feez St in Yeronga when he fell from his bike into the path of a ute towing a trailer at the intersection of Kadumba St.

Paramedics were called to the scene about 6.30am and the cyclist was treated on scene before being taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition.

He remained in ICU in a stable condition on Wednesday.

The driver of the ute was uninjured.

Police investigations are continuing.
