Cyclist dies in collision with truck at Albion, Brisbane

A CYCLIST has died after colliding with a truck in Brisbane’s north, triggering massive traffic delays.

A CYCLIST has died after colliding with a truck in Brisbane’s north this afternoon.

The 37-year-old Geebung man was riding north on Hudson Rd, Albion, about 3pm when he was struck by a northbound truck.

It is understood the cyclist was dragged several metres before the truck was able to come to a stop. The man died at the scene.

Investigations are continuing.

It comes as a 45-year-old Burpengary man died at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital after crashing his motorcycle on the Sunshine Coast Motorway just north of the airport exit about 1pm.

It is understood the man lost control of his motorcycle and was thrown from his bike.
