Man killed at Holmview after his motorcycle, car collide

A man has died after the motorbike he was riding and a car collided at an intersection south of Brisbane this afternoon.

A male motorcyclist has been killed following a two-vehicle crash at Holmview, south of Brisbane.

The Queensland Ambulance Service were called to the accident at Pepper Tree Drive and Teys Rd at Holmview at 12.38pm.

The motorcyclist, who was from Holmview, died at the scene.

The sole occupant of the car was not injured.

Investigations are continuing.

Residents in the area say Teys Rd has been used as a drag strip since the Holmview estate started expanding in the past two years.

Police have been alerted to hoons on Teys Rd and surrounding streets more than 10 times in the past two years.

Last night, residents reported a revving engine doing high speeds along Teys Rd around 9pm.

Meanwhile, a 12-year-old boy is in a serious condition in hospital after being hit by a car on busy Moores Rd near the Redland Bay ferry terminal this morning.

It is believed the child was riding a bike past the car park, which was full with cars parked along the street.
