Specialist forensic officers have today arrived at a remote national park after a member of the public called police claiming they’d located what they believe to be a human skull.

A crime scene was declared in the Durikai State Forest in Palgrave, about 30km southwest of Warwick in Queensland’s scenic rim region early yesterday morning.

The Courier-Mail understands the crime scene was declared after a member of the public called police, claiming they believed they had located a human skull, among other bones in the dense forest.

Forensic specialists and detectives are this morning at the scene off Forestry Rd, as investigations continue.
