POLICE are still searching for the body of a pregnant teen a year after a 60-year-old bush mechanic allegedly killed her.

Tiffany Taylor, 16, vanished after getting into a 1995 champagne-coloured Hyundai Excel sedan with Rodney Wayne Williams on July 12 last year after speaking to him on a dating website and agreeing to meet, police allege.

Detective Acting Inspector Mick Thiesfield told The Courier-Mail the police investigation had continued to search for the teen after Williams was charged with her murder.

“As important as it is for the police, it’s probably more important for the family with respect to any person out there who may know any information in relation to where the body may be,” he said. “It would be very important to them that the body be recovered.”

Ms Taylor was about 20 weeks pregnant when she went missing.

Police said she had offered sex for money online to support herself and Williams had agreed to pay her $500.

She had been living out of a motel on Loganlea Rd in Waterford West with her 41-year-old boyfriend at the time of her disappearance.

The next court mention date for Williams is August 24.
