A GOLD Coast high school principal who is suing five parents for more than $1 million for defamation has settled her case against one of them.
Tamborine High principal Tracey Brose has discontinued her landmark lawsuit against Charmaine Proudlock, a defamation trial in Southport District Court heard today.
After Mrs Brose was temporarily suspended from duty in February 2015, Ms Proudlock
allegedly posted on Facebook that the principal had a ‘horrendous attitude and behaviour towards those she were less than herself’ and ‘good riddance to bad rubbish’, according to court documents.
“She tried to destroy my daughter’s future … key word TRIED,” Ms Proudlock allegedly posted, Mrs Brose’s claim states.
The settlement comes after Judge Catherine Muir ordered that documents relating to Mrs Brose’s suspension be revealed to Ms Proudlock and two other parents being sued, Donna and Miguel Baluskas.
The couple and Laura Lawson are defending the defamation action.
They are all self-represented, unlike Ms Proudlock who had a team of lawyers.
