AN ICE queen who proudly boasted of her “crack lord” life while slinging drugs to even her own children has been sentenced to 10 years in jail for trafficking.

Rebecca Teresa Castner, 53, headed an ice trafficking syndicate from her “drug lord house” at Buderim, as a wholesale supplier to other dealers on the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane. She made at least $700,000 over a six-month stint, with telephone intercepts recording dozens of deals and conversations about her drug-funded lifestyle.

Four “employees”, who were paid with free rent and drugs, were ordered by Castner to use standover tactics to ensure debts were paid.

Castner also supplied meth to her son and cannabis to her daughter, who then on-sold to their own customers, the Supreme Court in Brisbane was told.

Justice Helen Bowskill said Castner ran a sophisticated drug network between January and July 2015 and her conduct was that of someone who was “clearly in power, clearly dominating others … and clearly enjoying it”.

During her sentencing, Castner, who once had a drug addiction, nodded as Justice Bowskill spoke of the tragic consequences of illicit drugs.

“I actually can’t bring myself to understand how a mother can be supplying those drugs to her own children,” Justice Bowskill said.

Caster supplied more than 100 ounces of drugs and bought cars and phones to help run the business.

She moved her drug business from her house to a hotel after she feared a police raid.

Castner pleaded guilty to one count of trafficking, two counts of possessing property obtained from trafficking, one count of drug possession and four other drug-related charges. Castner, who had already spent 163 days in pre-sentence custody, will have to serve at least 80 per cent of her 10-year sentence before being eligible for parole.
