A PEDOPHILE from Ipswich who repeatedly raped a four-year-old has made a bid for freedom.
Darren Rodney Taylor filed an application in the Supreme Court on August 16 seeking release on parole from Wolston prison.
The 50-year-old was eligible for parole in May 2015 but has been kept behind bars because his recent claims of innocence have precluded him from completing sexual offending assessments or programs.
In 2012 he pleaded guilty to three counts of rape and one count of indecent treatment of a child.
His sentencing judge made it clear that he was unlikely to get parole until he had completed sex offending programs.
In his application for the Supreme Court, Taylor states he applied for parole on December 9.
His application has been rejected and he now wants the parole board to give him a copy of the reasons why he was denied release.
The case returns to court on September 7.
It is his third attempt at release, with unsuccessful bids in February this year and November last year.
