DETECTIVES have released CCTV footage as they investigate the death of a 45-year-old man whose body was found in a sewage tank on Brisbane’s bayside earlier this month.

The footage shows Jason Guise in Wynnum on April 21.

The 45-year-old was last seen on Charlotte St when he visited a food truck around 7pm.

Police have released CCTV footage of Jason Guise, whose body was found in a sewage tank in Wynnum.

He was the subject of a missing person appeal on May 4, but his body was later found in a sewage tank in Wynnum on May 8.

Investigators are continuing to appeal for witnesses who may have seen Mr Guise or observed anything suspicious in the area of the sewage facility on Granada St between April 21 (Easter Sunday) and May 8.

The vision released shows Jason at a service station in Wynnum on the afternoon of April 21 and later walking through the Woolworths carpark from Florence St towards Charlotte St, at 6:38pm on April 21.

Detectives are still working to determine Mr Guise’s cause of death.

Detective Inspector Owen Eloy said a number of resources had been devoted to the investigation, including a team made up of east Brisbane and Homicide Unit police.

Asked how difficult the investigation had been, Det Insp Eloy said: “Difficult is a good word. It is a protracted and convoluted investigation.”

“(Police) are earning their money.”

Results from an autopsy are yet to arrive, which has made it difficult to determine when Mr Guise died.

“We’re following a line of investigation that’s taking us in a certain direction,” Det Insp Eloy said.

He would not comment further.

Police hope new CCTV footage depicting Mr Guise in a more recent state will help jog the public’s memory.
