POLICE are hunting a group of hoons who posted a video to social media of a ute fishtailing and doing burn outs in the middle of the M1 at Yatala on the weekend.
The group, who have dubbed themselves the “187 Cartel”, have been posting videos on Instagram and Facebook of dangerous stunts on southeast Queensland roads.
The group also uses social media to post to other members about meets, including one this weekend that included a drive from Ipswich to Surfers Paradise.
Police Minister Mark Ryan said that any illegal behaviour would be investigated.
“Unfortunately you can’t legislate against stupidity, but you can throw the book at them,” he said.
“Pull your socks up and stop being idiots, you will get a knock on the door by the police and you will feel the consequences of your bad behaviour.”
Police are urging members of the public with any information Policelink on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
