A SCREEN siren from the golden age of Hollywood is squabbling with her former partner over almost 20kg of gold bullion and control of her multimillion-dollar fortune.

Elaine Sterling Hollingsworth, 87, of Mudgeeraba, starred in movies with Clark Gable and Sean Connery during the 1950s.

On March 3, she asked the Supreme Court to restrain her former business and romantic partner, Ronald Bradley, 72, from selling their online natural health business or her acreage home.

The business evolved from the couple’s health retreat promoting preventive anti-cancer diets, which the couple ran at Mudgeeraba until about eight years ago.

According to the application, Hollingsworth wants a judge to rule that health company Empowerment Products is the legal owner of about 7kg of gold worth $363,997.

Supreme Court documents state the gold was purchased with cash withdrawn from a bank account belonging to the charitable Hippocrates Foundation in 2012 and 2013.

The foundation donates Hollingsworth’s books to libraries and promotes healthy eating.

Hollingsworth has also asked the court to ban Mr Bradley from selling a further 11.7kg of gold worth more than $700,000 that she alleges he is holding. Hollingsworth, who used the Hollywood name Sara Shane, made her millions after marrying a real estate tycoon, William Hollingsworth, and later as a property developer in Los Angeles.

She moved to Australia after her divorce, and in 2000 wrote a bestseller critical of traditional medicine.

Ms Hollingsworth wants the court to declare that she is the sole shareholder of Empowerment Products and that Mr Bradley’s appointment as a director is invalid.

She also seeks an order that Mr Bradley not “dispose of or deal with” her home, which is on 3.5ha at Mudgeeraba and owned by the Hippocrates Health Centre.

Domain name searches show that the website Doctors are Dangerous, which sells Ms Hollingsworth’s book and other items, is registered in Mr Bradley’s name.

He also holds the registration for the website of the Hippocrates Health Centre of Australia.

Chicago-born Mr Bradley moved to Australia in 1982, about the same time as Ms Hollingsworth.

It is believed they moved to Mudgeeraba in 1985 and became Australian citizens soon after.
