Fraser Island paramedic stabbed by woman searching for drugs
IN THE latest attack on Queensland’s frontline medical staff, a paramedic has been stabbed on Fraser Island in an apparent attempt to get drugs.

A WOMAN has stabbed a paramedic on Fraser Island after trying to force him to hand over drugs.
Police say the woman arrived at the Happy Valley ambulance station yesterday afternoon asking for medical assistance, before pulling out a knife and demanding drugs from a paramedic.

She then struggled with the male paramedic, stabbing him in the abdomen and arm, and rendering him unconscious.
The 56-year-old man is in a stable condition in the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
Police from Maryborough have travelled to the island to look for the woman, who is about 175cm tall, of a slim build, and aged in her late 20s or early 30s.
