A FORMER Bandidos bikie and his associate killed another man during a drug deal over two ounces of cocaine before one of them fled the country hours later, detectives allege.

Marko Cokara, 25, was arrested and charged with murder yesterday over the execution-style shooting of Jei “Jack” Lee in 2012.

And Queensland detectives will travel to Serbia next week to extradite former Bandidos member Bogdan Cuic over the murder.

Cokara is represented by high-profile defence lawyer Adam Magill, who said his client had indicated he would contest the charge.

“Bearing in mind the status of the charge – it is quite shocking to him – but it has been something that has been in the wind for some time,” Mr Magill said.

Detectives allege Mr Lee had organised to meet Cokara to sell him cocaine on April 12, 2012, in the carpark of Warrigal Shopping Centre in Eight Mile Plains.

Mr Lee, 22, met with friends who brought the cocaine and was to sell two ounces, which has a street value of about $17,000.

He and a friend met with Cokara and Cuic, who arrived in a silver BMW coupe before the two men tasted the cocaine, police allege.

Witnesses told police they soon heard a gunshot and saw Mr Lee fall to the ground before a silver BMW quickly drove out of the carpark just after 7pm.

Mr Lee was found with a gunshot wound to his head and without the cocaine.

Phone records showed Mr Lee had made several calls to a phone Cokara had used up until April 12.

The BMW, which had been registered in Cuic’s name, was found dumped on Sumners Rd, Riverhills.

Cuic’s then-girlfriend said she later dropped the men at the home of Cuic’s mother.

The next day Cuic’s girlfriend and her sister purchased a ticket for Cuic at Flight Centre Browns Plains and he fled the country to Thailand on a 2pm flight, detectives allege.

Cuic then travelled to Serbia where he was eventually arrested by police in June.

Cokara has been remanded in custody and will next appear in court on June 13
