AUTHORITIES are urging anyone with information on the whereabouts of fugitive ex-Queensland Nickel director Clive Mensink to come forward.

The Courier-Mail revealed yesterday that global crime fighters Interpol had joined the search for Mr Mensink after being contacted by Australian Federal Police about two warrants for his arrest.

The warrants were issued in March when Mr Mensink failed to turn up to Federal Court public examination hearings into the collapse of Queensland Nickel last January with $300 million in debts and 800 job losses.

According to Supreme Court documents, Interpol advised AFP that Mr Mensink was last located in Hong Kong on June 8, and departed the next day.

Yesterday, AFP confirmed it was “currently assisting the Federal Court” in relation to the two warrants. A spokesperson urged anyone with information to phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Mr Mensink’s uncle, former politician and QN owner Clive Palmer, told the Supreme Court last week that his nephew’s attitude seemed to be that he’d “left Australia for good”.

He has been overseas since June last year and had told the Federal Court through an affidavit sworn in Boston in January that he would be available this month to give evidence at the public hearings.
