A SUNSHINE Coast nurse accused of posting anti-vaccination comments in a “rabidly anti-vaccine secret Facebook group” has failed in her bid to block the health watchdog from considering disciplinary action.
In the Supreme Court in Brisbane, Elizabeth Jane Gregg, from Sunshine Beach, represented herself before Justice Roslyn Atkinson, asking for an injunction to stop the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia from further pursuing her.
Ms Gregg, a registered nurse and midwife, launched the case after she was told she had until February 2 to respond to claims she is facing a possible caution and could be forced to study “evidence-based practice” after she posted “numerous anti-vaccination statements” online, “including a post … in which you state that ‘Vaccines are Satan’s latest plan to taint and change human DNA’”.
In court documents Ms Gregg has denied she has ever promoted anti-vaccination.
