NOTORIOUS Hells Angels bikie Chris Bloomfield has been conditionally accepted into one of Australia’s most prestigious law schools, despite facing trial over a violent extortion.

Bloomfield, the alleged bikie gang enforcer at the centre of last year’s Snapchat video scandal involving NRL star Jarryd Hayne, received a conditional offer of a place at the Gold Coast’s elite Bond University, subject to strict criteria.

Bond’s law faculty has produced graduates including federal Tourism and Trade Minister Steve Ciobo as well as some of Australia’s top lawyers and businesspeople.

Bloomfield is on bail awaiting trial in the Southport District Court charged with extortion after he and two fellow Hells Angels allegedly bashed a man over a $20,000 drug debt, threatened to kill his family and took his BMW.

Police alleged in court documents that the man received a text from Bloomfield warning: “Every week u don’t pay my f----- money 10 per cent is getting added onto that amount!! U wanna go to the cops I know where your f------ family lives and I’ll shoot every single one of those motherf------ til I find you!!’

In September, Gold Coast Titans’ star recruit Hayne was plunged into controversy when a Snapchat video of him partying with Bloomfield emerged.

The video, shot after a day at the races attended by Bloomfield and Titans players, showed the alleged bikie standover man and Hayne joy-riding around the Coast and rapping together.

Bloomfield was shown waving a large wad of cash at the camera and declaring: “Haynesy just gave me five grand.”

Hayne later denied the money was his and said he had never met Bloomfield before that day.

The NRL Integrity Unit launched an investigation and Hayne received an official warning not to associate with known criminals.

Bikie sources say Bloomfield is on the outer with the Hells Angels because of the unwanted attention he has brought the gang.

Bloomfield recently posted his letter of offer from Bond University on his Instagram page. “I’ve been awaiting almost 6 months for this letter!!!” he told his followers.

“I can’t wait to start a new chapter in my crazy life for real!!! I wanna be an inspiration …”

Bond University said Bloomfield had been conditionally offered a place in the law school only if he successfully completed a Year 12 equivalent preparation program.

A university spokeswoman said Bloomfield had to achieve a 70 per cent minimum pass mark in the on-campus Bond College course to qualify for the undergraduate program.

“In other words there are significant hurdles for him to overcome and demonstrate his bona fides before any possibility of enrolling in the Law program,” she said.

“Christopher Bloomfield is not enrolled in or studying a law degree at Bond.”

The spokeswoman said Bloomfield had received ‘very positive references’ from members of the legal fraternity.

“The student made much of wanting a second chance and turning his life around,” she said.
