The moment a car veered into oncoming traffic and smashed into another vehicle on the Gold Coast has been caught on video.

Footage posted to Dash Cam Owners Australia showed a crash at Pacific Pines on Sunday afternoon in which a black car veered into the wrong lane and hit an oncoming car.

Three cars were involved in the crash.

The force pushed the car into another vehicle that was pulled over on the side of the road.

Neighbours could be seen rushing to their assistance.

The Facebook post said the driver claimed to have only looked down “for a second” before the incident.
