Bruce Hwy blocked as van erupts in flames, motorist trapped
There have been major delays on the Bruce Highway after two serious traffic incidents, including one in which a van caught fire.

Drivers faced heavy traffic on the Bruce Highway north of Brisbane this afternoon, with two crashes causing chaos.
The highway was blocked southbound at Palmview on the Sunshine Coast after a vehicle caught fire just before 2pm.
A North Coast Firecom spokeswoman said two fire crews were on the scene and had extinguished the fire soon after arriving.
She said the vehicle was a dog van being towed by a car, and all occupants were out of the vehicles when firefighters arrived.
Police were also responding to the incident.
Traffic was cleared by about 4.30pm.

Further north, two people were flown to hospital after a serious head-on crash at Glenwood.
The crash happened about 1.40pm and saw the Bruce Highway blocked.
A woman in her 20s was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a serious condition after suffering face, head, back and arm injuries in the crash.
Emergency crews were forced to free the woman from the wreck of her car.
A man in his 40s was taken to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital with abdominal injuries.
A QAS spokeswoman said each was in a stable condition.
Traffic on both lanes of the Bruce Highway was brought to a standstill for hours after the crash, which happened outside Glenwood State School.
Glenwood locals took to diverting traffic along Arborten and Neerdie roads while emergency services treated the pair.
Delays had cleared by 5pm.
In the state’s southeast, a motorcyclist suffered serious injuries in an earlier crash north of Brisbane.
The crash happened about 12.10pm on Mount Mee Rd, Mount Mee.
A rescue helicopter flew the patient to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a serious but stable condition with leg and shoulder injuries.
