A MAN and a woman allegedly jumped from the iconic Kookaburra Queen paddle wheeler and into the Brisbane River because they were having an argument.
The pair reportedly jumped from the iconic Kookaburra River Queen paddle wheeler just before 10pm, but were able to swim to the banks of the river underneath the Captain Cook Bridge at South Brisbane.
The couple were treated for exposure and shock by paramedics at the scene, before the woman was taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.
Captain Jim Kelly said the pair, who were a couple, were having a “lovers quarrel”.
"They were having an argument, and she’s run and dived off the side of the boat," he said.
"The man then emptied his pockets and dived in after her."
Water police were canvassing witnesses to determine what happened.
