Correction and apology to Shaun Savage

An article incorrectly reported that a female policewoman named Shaun Savage had been acquitted of driving while disqualified.

On 8 July 2025, the Courier-Mail published an article “Gympie cop Shaun Savage cleared for driving disqualified”.

The article incorrectly reported that a female policewoman named Shaun Savage had been acquitted of driving while disqualified.

Subsequently, the Courier Mail was contacted by Gympie Senior Constable Shaun Savage, a policeman, concerning the article.

Mr Savage was not the defendant in the proceedings, and the Courier-Mail wishes to apologise to him for any hurt and distress caused by the publication, and acknowledge that its contents were incorrect.
