CMC Rocks Qld to return in 2022 with headliners Brad Paisley, Kane Brown and Morgan Evans

After two years of being stalled by the pandemic, popular country music festival CMC Rocks will return to Queensland in 2022 with a trio of global superstars in tow

Country music superstars Brad Paisley, Kane Brown and Morgan Evans will headline CMC Rocks in a triumphant return for the Queensland festival.

Brown – one of the biggest hit-makers in the US as one of only five country acts with multiple four-times Platinum singles – will visit Australia for the first time to perform at the state’s leading country music festival when it returns to Willowbank in September 2022.

He joins American country legend Paisley, a three-time Grammy winner, and Australia’s Evans, who will return home from his Nashville base.

The star line up is a boost for CMC Rocks, which was postponed a week before it was due to take place in 2020 and has remained on hold due to the pandemic.

Festival organisers shifted the event from March to September next year in the hope the challenges of Covid will no longer be a threat.

“We know that it’s been a long year and a half for country music fans, we’ve felt it too,” said Michael Chugg, chairman of Chugg Entertainment.

“After making the heartbreaking decision to postpone our 2020 event a week before the festival was due to take place, we’ve been working hard to navigate all the changes and find the best way forward, safely”

Festival director Jeremy Dylan of Potts Entertainment added: “We’re confident that by September 2022, the challenges we’ve all faced since March 2020 will be a thing of the past, and we’re looking forward to getting back to what we do best: curating the finest country music from Australia and around the world.”

The event is expected to return to its regular March slot from 2023.

The full line up of local and international artists will be revealed in the coming months. All tickets purchased for the 2020 event will be valid for 2022.
