Nearly 200 Golden Retriever dogs and puppies have been seized from an alleged puppy farm in South East Queensland after a complaint about their poor living conditions.
The 183 dogs and puppies were seized by RSPCA Queensland inspectors and transported to the RSPCA on April 23, the animal welfare organisation said in a statement.
They attended the rural property at an undisclosed location along with Queensland Police Service officers and staff from a local council, after an animal welfare complaint was lodged, the statement says.
The dogs were assessed by vets before they were transported back to RSPCA kennels.
The Courier Mail contacted RSPCA media spokeswoman Emma Lagoon for comment but she said she was unable to reveal further details while the case was an active investigation.
