Clive Palmer has docked his new $40 million superyacht named Australia, the 584th biggest of its kind in the world in the Brisbane River.
The Australian reported Palmer paid around $40 million for the Italian made Gibraltar-registered vessel which measures 56 metres, can host 12 people alongside its 12 crew members.
The man who promised to build the second titanic has opted for something a bit smaller, for now.
The luxurious superyacht has a bar, jacuzzi, floating pool, jet ski storage, an owners suite, a VIP suite and four staterooms.
The businessman and politician bought the superyacht in December 2020, after it was on sale for more than 480 days.
Australia is a step up from his other superyacht, Nancy Jean, which was around $8 million and measured about 35 metres.
It was built in 2012 and before Palmer’s acquisition and name change in May, it was known as Bash and Ulysses.
It’s not the only big purchase the United Australia Party Founder has made in recent times though, purchasing a $20 million Sovereign Island mansion in August to add to his plethora of properties.
The crew are completing their two-week quarantine on board, but keep an eye out for Australia sailing through Brisbane, the Gold Coast and up to Hamilton Island.
