Christmas long weekend delivers third day of 70 minute highway delays
The M1 north and south of Brisbane is enduring its third straight day of congestion as the Christmas long weekend draws to a close.

The M1 between and the Gold and Sunshine coasts has been beset with gridlock for the third straight day as the Christmas long weekend draws to a close.
As of 4pm today there were 30-minute delays southbound on the Bruce Highway from Beerburrum to Elimbah, while on the Pacific Motorway on the Gold Coast, coronavirus restrictions exacerbated the situation with 20-minute delays at the NSW border.
Highway traffic cameras at Burpengary captured this morning’s large line up of traffic, with scenes similar over the past two days.
Meanwhile, the Pacific Motorway southbound from Brisbane was heavily congested near Loganholme, with delays of over an hour as of 11.30am.
