A longstanding feud between two Chinchilla men erupted into a violent street brawl at the weekend, leaving two people beaten and a home smashed up.
A Chinchilla police spokesman said a man and his son were sitting out the front of their home on Mackie and Barber Streets when a man known to them walked past.
After heated words were exchanged, the man reportedly walked off but soon returned with five of his friends.
Chaos ensued when some of the newcomers armed themselves with sticks during a violent street fight that left two men beaten, police say.
The police spokesman said the group ordered the pair to come out of their house after they sought refuge inside, with rocks, glass bottles, and bricks hurled through the air and smashing house windows.
The spokesman said the group of people scattered from the scene when police arrived about 9.51pm Sunday.
“Investigations into the matter are continuing,” he said.
