THERE'S nothing more enjoyable in this world than sharing a good meal with your loved ones, but imagine if you could share a meal with your entire community?

Israeli-English chef Yotam Ottolenghi once said food brought people together in a way nothing else could, and that's exactly what the Chinchilla Community Commerce and Industry Inc has been achieving with its One Long Table since launching the first event five years ago.

CCCI manager Robyn Haig said the original goal for One Long Table was to help unify and educate people about the region's exciting new multicultural influences.

"We've been very lucky to see an influx of families from different nationalities come to call Chinchilla home over the last decade,” Ms Haig said.

"This event is an excellent way for people to learn more about different cultures through food and to simply try some national dishes they haven't tasted before.”

This year's One Long Table is taking place on Saturday, September 14, from 4-9pm along Heeney St.

It will have 20 cultural cuisines as well as tried and true local favourites to sink your teeth into.

Better yet, the event is kept low cost for families with a donation for entry and each plate of food kept at $5 for a tapa-size portion so you can fit in as many national dishes as possible.
