Thieves who rummaged through Charleville cars on the loose

CHARLEVILLE police are trying to track down suspects of a series of unlocked house and vehicle break-ins.

CHARLEVILLE police are investigating a break and enter of a house on Burke Street after rummaging through the resident’s ute.

The offenders entered through an unlocked back door and snuck in between 1am and 7am on September 4.

The residents were home at the time, according to constable Demi Tomlinson.

They allegedly snuck out with keys to a Mazda ute and rummaged through the vehicle, leaving items on the passenger seat.

There was another car blocking the Mazda from behind, and the offenders fled the premises with the stolen keys.

Unlawful entry to motor vehicle

In a separate incident, offenders have broken into an unlocked vehicle parked on Alfred Street between 1am and 7am on September 4.

They rummaged through the car, conducting an untidy search before leaving.

It is not believed that any items were stolen.
