POLICE are trying to hunt down thieves who broke into a dwelling and stole the resident’s car keys while they were asleep.
Between 8.30pm on September 3 and 1.35am on September 4, the offenders snuck into a Bailey Bar Caravan Park dwelling in Charleville via an unlocked sliding door.
Constable Demi Tomlinson said it is being considered a ‘sneak offence’ as the victims were in bed at the time.
The offenders took a set of keys for a Ford FPV Pursuit ute.
Police believe the ute was pushed from its parking spot before being driven away.
It was later found at Ridge Street with a damaged radiator pipe.
A Queensland Police spokesman said investigations are continuing and no one has been charged yet.
