Roma man allegedly caught with methylamphetamine stash, large quantity of cash after bust at Charleville motel

A southwest Queensland man had an abrupt end to his weekend when Charleville police raided his motel room after concerned residents called the authorities.

Officers attended a motel on May 24 about 6.30pm after reports from members of the public and police conducted a search where they allegedly uncovered approximately 28g of methylamphetamine, a large quantity of cash, utensils and other drug related items.

A Queensland police spokesman said a 30-year-old Roma man has been charged with possession of property suspected of being the proceeds of an offence under Drugs Misuse Act, possessing dangerous drugs above schedule, possessing anything for use in the commission of crime, possess utensils or pipes and offence to buy or possess S4 or S8 medicines or hazardous poisons.

The man appeared in Charleville Magistrates Court on May 26 where he was remanded in custody to appear again before the court on June 24.

No application for bail was made.
