Offenders have taken off with 500 litres of diesel from two machines at a site on the Mitchell Highway

Diesel theft

Charleville police are investigating after unknown offenders stole diesel from a grade and dozer from a site on the Mitchell Highway.

Officers are seeking information in relation to approximately 500 litres of diesel that was stolen between June 28 and July 6.

Offenders removed the diesel from a Caterpillar Grade and Caterpillar Dozer and left the scene, likely by a vehicle.

Drink driving

A man will front the Charleville Magistrates Court after he was caught drinking at 9.40am on Friday, July 2.

Police were patrolling King Street and intercepted a vehicle for a traffic related offence.

The driver was required to provide a specimen of breath and recorded a positive roadside test and was taken back to the police station for further testing where he recorded a breath alcohol concentration of 0.018 per cent.

Due to being subject of a restricted licence, he must have no alcohol in his system at all times.

He was issued a notice of suspension for 24 hours and a notice to appear in court at a later date.
