Emergency services responded to reports of a truck trailer fire on Monday night, on the Mitchell Highway near Murweh.
Fire crews arrived on scene at 9.15pm, to a truck trailer on fire in the middle of the highway.
Police were on scene controlling traffic while fire crews worked to control the blaze.
Ambulance crews reported there were no patients at the scene.
The fire was reportedly under control by 12.15am, and completely extinguished by 12.30am.
Fire, police and local council crews worked through the night to clean up the scene, with the highway closed for some time as a result of the incident.
The Mitchell Highway has now reopened, as of Tuesday morning.
