With their dimpled and rosy cheeks, goofy grins, curious personalities and tiny hands which just manage to wrap an adult’s pinky, it’s almost impossible to not be delighted by an adorable baby.
However, only one baby from every town could be crowned the bona fide cutest baby.
That title was taken out by Amari-Tali Margaret Beryl Kasiano.
Amari’s mother, Mirri Burns, said she was so excited by the result.
“It makes me feel so happy and proud that’s my daughter,” she said.
Ms Burns said Amari, who is her first child, was born in January and has changed her life for the better.
Of Amari’s name, she said it pays homage to many people in her daughter’s life.
“Her father and I decided to combine our names,” she said.
Amari is a combination of Ms Burns’ first name, Mirra, and Amari’s father’s name, Amataga.
The second part of her first name, “Tali,” is a tribute to Amataga’s brother, and “Margaret” and “Beryl” are Ms Burn’s mother and grandmother respectively.
Ms Burns said her favourite memory of Amari so far was when she was just more than five months old, she and her father were singing Samoan songs into the microphone, which Ms Burns said was such a happy memory.
Ms Burns said it had been difficult since August when Amari’s father had to return to Samoa, but she was looking forward to taking her daughter to see him in Samoa for their first Christmas as a family.
