Three people involved in two-car crash on Gregory Highway, Emerald

A teenage boy and man aged in his 20s have been taken to Emerald Hospital after a shocking crash in peak traffic times. See all the details from the scene.

Two people were taken to hospital after a nasty two-car collision in Emerald on Wednesday afternoon.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said crews were called to the scene on Gregory Highway and Hawkins Place about 2.50pm

A teenage boy suffered chest injuries and a man, aged in his 20s, had seatbelt-related injuries.

Both were taken to Emerald Hospital, while a third person declined treatment.

All three were out of their respective cars by the time emergency services arrived, with a police spokesman saying the road was cleared by 3.10pm.

Police said the cause of the crash was at this stage unclear, with investigations ongoing.
