The Temper Trap is an alternative rock quartet who provide an atmospheric sound created by grand guitars, pulsating rhythms and pining vocals. The Melbourne band moved to London last year to record their first album Conditions (they released The Temper Trap EP in 2006) with famed producer Jim Abbiss. The Strokes

Forming in 1998, New York City rockers The Strokes helped lead the post-punk revival of the early noughties with debut album Is This It. Is This It was so impressive, in fact, that NME named it their Album of the Decade. Two albums – Room on Fire and First Impressions of Earth – followed before the band had a four-year break from recording. They went back to the studio in the Summer of 2009. Their song Last Nite is a grungy dance favourite around the world.
