Roads closed in Central Highlands and Isaac areas due to flooding and other hazards

While severe weather is no longer impacting most parts of Central Queensland, dozens of roadways remain impacted by flooding across the region.
The Bureau of Meteorology advised the current situation in Central Queensland as at Friday afternoon was that a surface trough was through the southeast interior extending offshore to a low pressure system off the Capricornia coast.
“A strong high in the Tasman Sea is directing an unseasonably moist airmass across the southeast of the state. A strong upper trough is moving slowly eastward across the southeast of the state during today and offshore later tomorrow, with the surface trough weakening in response,” the Bureau said.
“The weak low pressure system combined with the strong high pressure system over the Tasman Sea will produce hazardous surf conditions and windy about the southeast and Capricornia coasts, easing later in the weekend.
Rainfall from the BOM shows falls ranging between 50mm - 100mm in parts of the Central Highlands and Capricornia regions in the 24 hours until 9am Friday.
Minor flooding was occurring at the Bingegang Weir, Coolmaringa Alert and Yatton.
Central Highlands Regional Council has advised the following roads are impacted by the weather event.

- Rhydding Fitzroy Developmental Rd Hazard Road restricted, restricted to four wheel drive vehicles only

- MacKenzie River, Blackwater Cooroorah Rd, road closed to all traffic, do not drive in flood waters
- Rolleston,Springsure Dawson Hwy, Dawson Hwy, all lanes affected, proceed with caution
- Capella, Cotherstone Rd, restricted to four wheel drive vehicles only, avoid the area
