Firefighters, police, and ambulance crews have been rushed to Emerald to quench a fire threatening to move beyond a cotton picker.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services responded to reports of a vehicle fire on Donahue Rd, just outside of Emerald after 12:30.
A QFES spokeswoman confirmed the first of two crews arrived to reports of a fire at 12.52pm, finding a cotton picker on fire, with ‘significant’ amounts of smoke billowing from the farm equipment.
Firefighters in breathing apparatus were still working to bring the fire under control as of 1.07pm, while police and ambulance vehicles have also been called to the scene.
The QFES spokeswoman said all vehicle occupants were accounted for, although a number of close by cotton bales had also caught fire.
Firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze by 1:20pm.
