Punches thrown in ugly brawl at country pub

Three siblings who were allegedly involved in a wild street brawl outside a popular Central Queensland pub have faced court for the first time, as police revealed more than a dozen people had been charged over the incident.

The details of the incident, allegedly involving 30 people fighting outside the Irish Village at Emerald, emerged when another person charged appeared in court earlier in August.

The two sisters and one brother, Mrs Kadiesha Bryanne Frances Docherty and Kylia Eyvonne Rose Docherty, and Mr Brandon Macauley Conway-Docherty had the first mention of their matters in Emerald Magistrates Court on Tuesday, August 30.

All three were charged with one count of commit public nuisance over the incident.

The court heard from the trio’s duty lawyer, Lauren Townsend, that Kadiesha and Kylia had been to court earlier that morning long enough to ask Ms Townsend to appear on behalf of themselves and their brother.

The siblings sought an adjournment in order to seek further legal assistance.

Magistrate Rosemary Gilbert adjourned all of their matters to September 27, 2022 at Emerald court.
