CHRC cancels alert for Emerald residents to boil water
The update comes after a water main broke in the northern parts of the town, leaving many without water.

Emerald residents are no longer required to boil water prior to drinking following a water main rupture on Monday.
Central Highlands Regional Council announced the Government Water Regulator had given the go-ahead to lift the water boil alert.
“Council wishes to thank Emerald residents for their understanding and patience over the past few days,” a spokesman said.
This comes after many residents were left without water due to an unplanned water outage on Monday.
The water main break in Harris Street affected people across Emerald, some experiencing low water pressure while others were left with a total interruption to their water supply.
Some homes were left with discoloured water when the system was repressurised, although after ongoing monitoring, all issues have been resolved.
