Receivers are already talking to “interested parties” as they look to secure a sale of one of the Central Queensland car dealerships that shut suddenly last week.
Grant Thornton Partners issued a statement on Wednesday, February 12 advising Graham Killer and Michael McCann were appointed as Receivers and Managers of SLB Investments Queensland Pty Ltd which had previously traded as Linemac Mitsubishi, Linemac Motors, Grimshaw Quality Cars, and Linemac Ford.
Grimshaw Quality Cars had locations in Emerald and Rockhampton and Linemac Motors had a Ford and Mitsubishi dealership in Biloela.
“The company ceased trading all three businesses as of Friday with employees subsequently made redundant,” Mr Killer, a partner at Grant Thornton, said.
“The receivers are working closely with the Biloela dealership to complete a sale of the business.
“We appreciate this is a difficult time for employees and customers alike, and we will continue to work closely with interested parties to secure a sale of the Biloela dealership as soon as possible.”
The receivers did not issue any information about the fate of the other dealerships in Emerald and Rockhampton or the number of customers who have been financially affected by the closures or the amounts of money involved.
More details are expected to be released as its investigation continues.
This publication attempted to call business owner Alan Grimshaw by phone and by text yesterday to seek a response to customer claims and the company’s financial situation.
