Alaina Earl launches debut art exhibition at Moranbah’s Coalface Art Gallery

Her work will be featured alongside her art students’ at the debut exhibition.

Moranbah identity and 4RFM radio champion Alaina Earl is bringing her artistic talent to the Coalface Art Gallery in her debut exhibition Deeper Water.

The exhibition primarily features artworks with ocean-based themes, something from which Ms Earl says she draws inspiration.

“Art has always been a way for me to switch off and the ocean has always been a very calming environment for me,” she said.

“Being on it, in it, or looking at it brings such a wonderful sense of calm.

“I hope that this exhibition can project that.”

Isaac Regional Council Acting Mayor Kelly Vea Vea said Ms Earl has been sharing her artistic skills with Moranbah residents for years.

“Dozens of people have had the honour of attending one of Alaina’s workshops over the years, and now we have the pleasure of showcasing some of her work and some creations from Art Party participants,” she said.

Ms Earl said she was excited to have her students’ work handing beside hers in the debut exhibition.

“I am also incredibly proud to have some of my Art Party students’ work hanging on the walls alongside mine,” she said.

Members of the public are invited to attend the official launch of the exhibition on Wednesday, September 1 to meet Ms Earl and view the artworks.

The launch will begin at 6pm with complimentary light refreshments and a cash bar.
