POLICE have described a truck driver as having a "very lucky escape" after he was thrown out of his cab when his truck rolled over on the Burnett Highway last Thursday.
Senior Constable Melanie Ryan said police feared the worse upon arriving at the scene, but the truck driver was found to only have a few scratches to show for the crash.
Paramedics assessed the man's minor injuries at the scene and a witness said the driver was "up and walking".
He was transported to Murgon Hospital for a precautionary check.
"Talk about a very lucky escape, time to buy a lotto ticket, as this could have been fatal," Snr Const Ryan said.
The accident occurred near Holroyd Rd at Booubyjan, about 20km to the south of Ban Ban Springs.
The southbound lane of the Burnett Highway was closed for hours after the single-vehicle truck rollover.
A tow truck was called from Toowoomba and had hours to travel before clearing the scene.
SES, police and firefighters controlled traffic in the meantime.
Police are continuing their investigations regarding the incident, but no charges or traffic infringement notices have been issued at this stage.
