MITCH De Rossi has 17 years of touch football under his belt and he has represented Australia and Queensland on more than one occasion.

So when he was accompanied by Natalie De Rossi to deliver a skills session in Gayndah last week, keen juniors milked it for all it was worth.

"Children learnt to catch, throw, pass and dive all while learning basic touch skills," Gayndah Touch Football Association president Stacey Duncan said.

"We had a great roll-up to the afternoon session with over 20 children participating in more complex training drills working on game play, defence and attack."

The duo travelled from Sunshine Coast Touch Association to deliver the session.

They supplied skills sessions for all children at Gayndah State School then followed with a session at Gayndah Sports Fields for players of all ages.

Of those to refine their skills were players from Gayndah's Under-14 mixed team, who won at the recent Bundaberg Cup.

They were one of two mixed teams who went on to play in the under-14 boys division.

The final score was 5-1.

"With progressing automatically to the finals of their mixed division they played the Kingaroy mixed team and came away with a victory," Duncan said.

"The kids played really well in all their games."
