YOUR Money will be the go-to destination for everything that makes our economy tick.

The new 24-hour business, personal finance and luxury lifestyle channel, which launches next Monday, will cut through the jargon and present complex finance stories in an entertaining and engaging way according to presenter Ticky Fullerton.

"We will go anywhere where there is a story to be dug up and explain it in an accessible way," she tells The Guide.

"There are some big political plays happening, so it's a really exciting time to be a business journalist.

"Decisions are being made right at the very top in Canberra and in the boardrooms every day that affect us all in our everyday lives. It's our job to explain what's going on and to call people to account."

Fullerton made the move from investment banking to television more than two decades ago, working for the ABC's flagship programs Lateline, Landline and Four Corners before joining Sky News last year to host her own business series, Ticky.

With its tagline "where business and politics meet", the program covers the major issues facing the nation and global economy.

"I'm very proud of the fact that our small and agile team, which has only been going for 18 months, managed to pick up two News Corp Awards last year," she says.

"We're trying to explain to Australians why Donald Trump having a row with Xi Jinping matters to us. We see all this stuff, but how does that affect all of us down here?

"I've been very lucky that the show attracts business leaders across Australia and internationally; night after night they're on the show. It's a great privilege to be able to interview the CEOs of the big four banks... energy and banking are two of the biggest issues at the moment."

A joint venture between Nine and Australian News Channel, Your Money will be broadcast on free-to-air channel 95 as part of Nine's digital spectrum and on its streaming service 9Now. It will also replace Sky News Business on Foxtel Channel 601.

Fullerton looks forward to exploring the issues affecting regional and rural viewers.

"There's a whole wealth of stories out there in rural and regional Australia," she says.

"I wrote a book on water (Watershed: Deciding Our Water Future) so I have a huge personal interest in water in particular, and also in agriculture. Look at what this sabotage is doing to the strawberry market. It's an absolute tragedy. Everybody should go out and buy six punnets to prop up our industry.

"The royal commission into aged care is kicking off as well and that has implications for all Australians because of what changes might do to the cost of care.

"There's also this massive pool of money, $2.7 trillion, owned by our superannuation. We're all paying our mandatory super, so where does that go to get invested? Where the power will be in the future will be with those who run the super funds."

Your Money launches on Monday, October 1. Ticky airs Mondays at 5pm.
