Powerful quake rocks Afghanistan

Despite registering at 6.6 on the Richter scale there have been no reports the quake caused loss of life.

DOZENS of people were injured when a powerful earthquake shook Pakistan, Afghanistan and India on Sunday afternoon. The epicentre was in Ishkashim, in north-eastern Afghanistan, the quake measuring at 6.6 on the Richter scale at a depth of 210km.

A spokesman for the Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority said there had so far been no reports of deaths or significant damage.
