Traffic on the Isis Highway has been impacted after a truck towing trailers of molasses caught on fire while travelling in Coalstoun Lakes in the North Burnett late last night.
Police and emergency services crews were called to the intersection at Crater Lakes Road and Isis Highway about 11.30pm on Thursday night.
A spokesman from the Queensland Fire Department said a tanker carrying molasses was on fire.
He said the driver was uninjured and the tanker had been separated from the truck so it didn’t burn.
Initial police investigations showed the truck was towing two trailer containing molasses, when the rear trailer caught on fire.
The fire was extinguished, and the rear trailer was completely destroyed.
According to Queensland Ambulance Service media, no patients were reported at the scene.
At the time of publishing, the Isis Highway has been reduced to one lane.
