Motorcyclist hurt

A MAN in his 20s was flown by Rescue Helicopter to Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital after his motorbike collided with a tree at Dallarnil at the weekend.

Paramedics and the rescue helicopter were called to the scene at Grills Rd after 11am on Saturday.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesperson said the rider from Bundaberg was treated on scene for back injuries, which were the paramedics' primary concern, and he also suffered abrasions to his shoulder and neck.

He was flown to hospital in a stable condition.

Water to be cut

THE WATER supply to premises in Elizabeth, Landy, Olympia and Spoor Streets, and Ryan Avenue, at Mundubbera will be interrupted on Thursday, April 18 from 9am to 2pm. Water mains replacement works are to take place.

Tips closed

WASTE Management Facilities across the region will be closed Good Friday, April 19 and ANZAC day Thursday, April 25. Normal operating hours will resume on Friday, April 26. Kerbside garbage collections for these days will remain as usual.

Scheme pays off

THE GAYNDAH Freemasons and Lions were surprised by a lack of drink cans and bottles found at a recent road-side clean up. Seven volunteers picked up rubbish on the eastern approach to Gayndah from Beronne Road to Oakey Creek. Compared to previous clean-ups they had little to collect. "The rest area was the cleanest we have ever seen it," Gayndah Lions' Henry Harman said. They believe the Containers for Change scheme is paying off.
