MONTO Race Course received more than 30mm of rain in the week prior to the 2019 races leaving the track rain affected and likely to chop out.
Eidsvold trainer Bob Murray said the condition of the track didn't cause any problems, especially not for his own horses.
The Murray family's horses Riverina Gold and Brat Attack won two races, while horse Jomar's Element scored a second place.
"We had a really good day overall, to get a first in the first race and then that double was great,” Mr Murray said.
"The track raced true and pretty good, I don't think any horses were disadvantaged.”
The rain did, however, cause the fifth race to be abandoned and the the third and fourth race to be reduced from a 1200m track to a 1000m track.
"I was a bit disappointed about that fifth race because thought I could win that with Layla's Lad , but that's life,” Murray said.
Monto Race Club secretary Kerri Williams said while the rain affected the racing side of things, all the jockeys and trainers were understanding.
"And the crowd gave nothing but praise for how the day turned out considering the weather,” Mrs Williams said.
"We always do get a really good crowd and this weekend was no different.
"We had more than 600 people and 49 horses.”
